About The Dam Truth

For the past seventy years, mega dams and their associated reservoirs have been proliferating around the globe. But, why do people still understand so little, if anything, about these energy producing giants?  Much like fossil fuel energy generation before, this industry has had little or no public scrutiny regarding potential climatological impacts.  Our blog, THE DAM TRUTH, is intended to bring scientific analysis and technical information into the public domain with the intention of driving political action on these reservoirs and their net effect on climate in the Northern Hemisphere.  Over a seventy year period, more than thirty of these mega dams have been constructed, with ever-increasing environmental and climatological fallout created by the reservoirs. Focusing on available data and analyses, we plan to bring full transparency to a renegade hydro-electric industry that in all likelihood is more toxic and destructive of our planet than even fossil fuels.
